The aim of the Maths curriculum at Gilberdyke is to ensure children gain a deep level of understanding in mathematical concepts, through the use of models and images along with the application into real life concepts.
Maths is taught daily and lessons are split into two sections. The first 20 minutes is the 'Big Maths' session, which is heavily focused on mental calculations. Children work from the objectives from The National Curriculum, which can be found below.
